Update

Hi everyone! It's a surprise to see that I've hit above 1000 views! (I know that is a very small number compared to other sites but well, I'm pretty proud of it!) This post is mainly an update so far of what I've done.

1. I have left with 20 over schools that I've yet to design (can't believe it finally done soon!)
2. I'm currently playing around with the interface of the "game" that I wanted to create (long time ago) not sure how the response would be, but hopefully good.

After the launch of the game, I'm considering to continue with the daily post of uniform (because it will come to an end eventually ...)

I'm really looking forward to look for partners who have ideas that make use of these arts so that everyone can get to enjoy "playing" with it, rather than just looking at it :x

HAITUS

To all my beloved viewers,

I will away for a month or so as I've set my academic as my priority.

That being said, I'm still working on the remaining school uniform designs. (PS: I'm already more than half way to completion of all the secondary school uniform in Singapore, so your patience is greatly appreciated)

At the same time, I will be think of possible application such as mini game which could allow user to play base on the design.

If you do have any suggestions on how I could infuse the concept into a game, do send me an email to let me know :) I'm always on my email :)

Jurong West Secondary School

A very unique choice of color combination by the school, makes me feel kind of "heavy"...

On a second note, new year is coming, so I guessed I would be on another break soon also due to school reopening on the upcoming week...

Background Information
Jurong West Secondary School functioned at the old Boon Lay Secondary premises along Jalan Boon Lay from 2 Jan 2001 until it moved to its new present premises at 6, Jurong West St 65 on 18 Mar 2002. The new 3.1 hectare premises, built at the cost of $20 million, included up-to-date facilities such as computer & science laboratories, media resource library & IT resource rooms and special rooms for art, music & dance.


The eagle represents strength of character with outspread wings looking west, guarding the virtues of the school embodied within the school crest. The contoured shape and design of the crest is reminiscent of the badges of the guardians of the civilian society signifying discipline. Above its head and outspread wings, the initials of the school take position and precedence.

The school's virtues are symbolised by the four designs in the two halves of the crest.

Two clasped hands form the shape of a heart symbolising the school's aspiration to create individuals who will serve the needs of the community.

The atomic symbol represents the need to be technologically oriented as mankind explores the realms of the digital age and cyber space.

An unconventional square bulb symbolises imaginative thinking to help nurture creative minds.

A flaming torch representing life-long learning is placed over a scroll signifying academic excellence, the former taking precedence over the latter.

And finally, displayed at the base of the crest, is the school motto reinforcing the courage of the eagle.

St. Margaret's Secondary School

Another simple yet complicated uniform design. In term of hard work, I think is it comparable to the CVSS uniform design. XD

Christmas is just over and I thought of posting something Christmas related~ hahaha

Background Information
St. Margaret’s Secondary School (SMSS) is an autonomous government-aided girls’ secondary school in Singapore, under the purview of the Anglican Diocese of Singapore. It is the first girls’ school in Singapore and is often regarded as the oldest existing girls’ school in the South East Asia.

The school uniform is a one piece dress which features a dark green polka-dotted top, a dark green skirt up to knee length and a dark green school tie with the school logo pinned at the bottom. There are also separate PE shorts, a shirt with different colours depending on different houses and a CCA skirt. White school socks with or without the SMSS logo can be worn. A name tag is worn. The only jacket allowed is the black school jacket or any plain black jacket, and earrings are restricted to plain studs of green, white, black, gold or silver. Hair accessories can only be dark green, white and black.

SMSS is affiliated with St. Margaret's Primary School (SMPS) and Saint Andrew's Junior College (SAJC).

Woodgrove Secondary School

Sweet! Christmas is just around the corner and I guess I would be busy with gatherings etc so I've decided to post the most unique uniform in Singapore~ (most of you might have guess it though) Worked on this design a week ago just so I could post today, hahaha

The lower secondary uniform is adapted from the japan sailor costume and for the upper secondary uniform, the design on the tie is based on the school logo which really helps brighten the white blouse and dark blue skirt uniform design.

Lastly, Merry Christmas to everyone in advance! Hopefully 2017 would be a better year for this blog :)

Background Information
Woodgrove Secondary school is a secondary school in Woodlands, Singapore. The school was founded by pioneer Principal Mrs Helena Song Kheng Sin in year 2000, and opened by Dr Maliki Osman, MP for Sembawang GRC on 5 July 2002. 

The school enrolled 320 Secondary 1 students and supported by 23 teaching and other supporting staffs.The school had its first batch of student candidates taking national examinations in year 2003. In year 2004, the school made news for obtaining the highest percentage of students, 94.7%, achieving 3 or more 'O' level passes and 91.6% achieving 5 or more 'O' level passes.

The school crest depicts birds ready to soar into the sky from a sturdy branch. The birds signify Woodgrovers as dynamic learners, grounded on sound values and daring to fly up high to achieve their goals and overcome future challenges. The leaves signify life and growth in a harmonious, safe and supportive environment as the school prepares the learners well in their pursuits of their dreams.

The colour yellow symbolises positive attitudes and a strong committment to excel in one's responsibilities. Orange mirrors a burning passion, the vigour and hunger for progress as well as a determination to achieve one's goals fast. While green denotes virtue and an appreciation of beauty that the school tries to inculate, the colour white projects purity, integrity and a professional image and standard.

Tanjong Katong Secondary School

Yet another plain uniform design by me simply because I can't get a good glimpse of the tie itself. But if you do have it, you may send an image to my email maybe? :)

Background Information
Tanjong Katong Secondary School, affectionately known as TK, is an autonomous co-educational school located in Katong. Before its autonomous status, the school was named by the Ministry of Education (MOE) as the 'Best Non-Independent and Non-Autonomous Secondary School' in Singapore. TK was presented the 'Ministry of Education's School Excellence Award in 2007 and 2011, which recognises "excellence in both education processes and outcomes", and is regarded as one of the Top non-Integrated Programme (IP) secondary schools in Singapore. The school celebrated its Golden Jubilee - '50 years of establishment' in 2006, with Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong as the Guest-of-Honour.

On the crest of the school is a picture of Leonardo Da Vinci, one of the most versatile geniuses of modern times. He was both a scientist and an artist. Leonardo represents a man with an 'all-round' education. The symbolism of 'flight' in the school's emblem, seen in the bird and flying machine, instills in the students the desire to beyond the realms of ordinary education and to achieve goals, which no one has dared to dream before.

Female students wear a short-sleeved blouse with the school badge on the left at the front of the uniform. The sleeves of the blouse are folded to differentiate TK girls from other schools that have a similar uniform. The skirt is jade-green in colour with box pleats. The TK girl's uniform was designed by one of its first female students, Ms Lim Soo Lan.
