Raffles Junior College


PS: Honest mistake here, I totally forgotten about RJC, if not it should been posted much earlier on.

The former Raffles Junior College (RJC) was a junior college in Singapore offering pre-university education. The college was founded in 1982 following a separation from the pre-university section of Raffles Institution. Raffles Junior College was merged as the college section of Raffles Institution on 1 January 2009.



Between 2005 and 2009, Raffles Junior College co-ran the Raffles Programme (Integrated Programme) with Raffles Institution and Raffles Girls' School (RGS). In the programme, girls in RGS, before completing their pre-university studies in the co-educational Raffles Junior College.

Eunoia Junior College


Eunoia Junior College (EJC) is a junior college in Singapore which offers Integrated Programme (IP) with Catholic High School, Singapore Chinese Girls' School and CHIJ Saint Nicholas Girls' School. It is located in Bishan, within close proximity to Bright Hill MRT station and Bishan MRT station.

The design of the crest is inspired by the neural networks of the human brain, and which portrays the motto of beautiful thinking. The circular shape of the crest signifies the holistic development of the students, while the oriental theme provides a contrast to the college's name "Eunoia" adapted from the western Greek. It encompasses the vision for the students to rooted to their own cultural heritage and to embrace and thrive in diverse cultural settings of a globalised world.

The white-and-grey school uniform of Eunoia Junior College was designed by two students, with optimisation by an appointed designer.



Eunoia Junior College is the junior college (JC) partner of Catholic High School, CHIJ St Nicholas Girls' School and Singapore Chinese Girls' School under the Joint Integrated Programme. The majority of its students will be enrolled through the Integrated Programme (IP) while a quarter of the enrolment places are reserved for students enrolling through the Junior College Joint Admission Exercise with their Singapore-Cambridge GCE Ordinary Level results.

Innova Junior College


Innova Junior College (IJC) (Chinese: 星烁初级学院) was a government co-educational junior college located in Woodlands, Singapore, offering two-year pre-university courses leading to the Singapore-Cambridge GCE Advanced Level examination.

Innova Junior College was the third junior college to be established past the millennium after Pioneer Junior College and Meridian Junior College, and received the first cohort of students to its new campus in January 2005.

On 20 April 2017, it was announced that IJC would merge with Yishun Junior College (YJC), with the merged school located at the current site of Yishun Junior College. This was in view of the declining cohort sizes since 2014, which was attributed to the fall in Singapore's birth rate. As a result of the merger, Innova Junior College will not admit students from January 2018 to minimise the need for students to physically relocate towards the new site.

Yishun Innova Junior College


Yishun Innova Junior College (YIJC) is one of the 14 junior colleges in Singapore, offering two-year pre-university programmes for students who graduate from secondary schools after the General Certificate of Education 'Ordinary' Level Examination. The two-year A Level programme prepares students for education in local or foreign universities. The junior college was formed from a merger between Innova Junior College and Yishun Junior College in 2019, and begun operations on the existing campus of Yishun Junior College as Yishun Innova Junior College.


Yishun Junior College (YJC) started operations in January 1986, and was initially housed on the same premises as Yishun Secondary School and Yishun Town Secondary School, while its permanent campus was being built.

On 20 April 2017, it was announced that YJC would merge with Innova Junior College (IJC), with the merged school located at the current campus of YJC. This was in view of the declining cohort sizes since 2014, which was attributed to the fall in Singapore's birth rate.

Victoria Junior College


Victoria Junior College (also known as Victoria or VJC) is a highly selective, coeducational junior college in Singapore offering pre-university education to boarding and day-students. The school was founded in 1984, although its predecessor and affiliated institution, Victoria School, was founded in 1876. VJC is part of the Victoria-Cedar alliance, and is one of Singapore's top Junior Colleges.



Since the 2012 school year, VS and Cedar Girls' Secondary School have offered the Victoria-Cedar Alliance Integrated Programme (VCA IP) option. After finishing Secondary 4, 160 students from each school continue on to VJC automatically.

Temasek Junior College


Temasek Junior College (TJC) (Chinese: 淡马锡初级学院) is a Junior College located on the eastern side of Singapore that also offers a 6 years Integrated Programme along with the traditional 2 year GCE Advanced Level curriculum.

Temasek Junior College, established in 1976 as the second government junior college in Singapore, took in its pioneer batch of students the following year. The college was the second to bear reference to the nation, after National Junior College.

The uniform of Temasek Junior College is varied depending on the day of the week. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, students are allowed to wear the college polo shirts. The students in the first and second year of the integrated programme wear green coloured shirts whereas the third and fourth year students will wear black. As for the year five and six integrated programme, as well as the students in junior college years one and two, they will have to wear a white-coloured polo shirt. On Mondays, 'Full Uniform' ( Green shirt with Tie and school bottoms ).

The collar pin, which bears the college crest, is worn on the left collar of shirt. Dark green blazers and school ties are worn in representation of the College on important ceremonies.

St Andrew's Junior College


St. Andrew's Junior College (abbreviation: SAJC) is a junior college in Singapore, offering two-year pre-university courses leading up to the Singapore-Cambridge GCE Advanced Level examination.

Female students wear a white short-sleeved shirt and navy blue skirt of which the hemline should be no higher than 5cm from the middle of the knee cap as well as the back of the knee. SAJC is the only JC in Singapore to incorporate a tie as part of its daily attire.

The formal attire changes the white blouse to a long-sleeved one, and the skirts to a white one. Students donning this uniform will wear black court shoes.

Jurong Junior College


Jurong Junior College (JJC) was a junior college located in Jurong West, Singapore. It was the ninth junior college to be established by the Ministry of Education of Singapore.

On 20 April 2017, the Ministry of Education announced the merger of several junior colleges including that of JJC which was to merge with Pioneer Junior College (PJC). The merged school will be located at the site of PJC. In 2018 it was announced that the merged JC will retain the original names of both schools - Jurong Pioneer Junior College. The merger was in view of the declining cohort sizes since 2014, which was attributed to the fall in Singapore's birth rate.

The full college uniform consisted of beige blouses and skirts for girls.

Jurong Pioneer Junior College


Jurong Pioneer Junior College (JPJC) is a junior college in Singapore offering a two-year pre-university course leading up to the Singapore-Cambridge GCE Advanced Level examination. The college is a by-product of the merger between Jurong Junior College and Pioneer Junior College in January 2019.


On 20 April 2017, it was announced that Jurong Junior College will be integrated into Pioneer Junior College with effect from January 2019, with the new name as Jurong Pioneer Junior College, which is a combination of the two schools' names. This was in view of the declining enrollment into junior colleges since 2014, attributed to the fall in Singapore's birth rate.

Jurong Pioneer Junior College's uniform was designed by alumni from JJC and PJC as well as its pioneer batch of students in 2018. The current uniform is a white shirt/blouse and dark blue pants/skirt. Students wear a maroon tie every Monday morning till 1030hrs. During other official events, students don grey blazers and ties.

National Junior College


National Junior College (NJC) (Simplified Chinese: 国家初级学院) is the first junior college to be established in Singapore. Founded on 20 January 1969, National Junior College offers a two-year course for pre-university students and a six-year Integrated Programme, both leading up to the Singapore-Cambridge GCE Advanced Level qualification.

The uniform for female students is a shirt with shoulder epaulettes, secured by square silver buttons embossed with the school crest. Its waterproof and fireproof too. There are no pockets on the blouse and they have a pleated A-line skirt. Students also wear a pin, depicting the college crest, on the uniform's left collar. The main colour of the school uniform is grey.

Nanyang Junior College


Nanyang Junior College (NYJC) (simplified Chinese: 南洋初级学院) is a junior college in Singapore next to Lorong Chuan MRT station, offering two-year pre-university courses leading up to the GCE Advanced Level examinations.

In recent years, Nanyang Junior College has witnessed tremendous rise in its admission standards, establishing the institution as one of the top junior colleges in Singapore based on entry points. As the top non-IP junior college since 2016, Nanyang Junior College has proved its consistent results in the GCE Advanced Level national examination, faring well above national average for many subjects. For the past decade, the college has nurtured six Public Service Commission (PSC) Scholarship holders, a notable record among the nation's established institutions.

Female students wear beige-coloured blouses, beige skirts, and occasionally, at their discretion, shorts underneath the skirts. The former uniform, which was of a deeper brown, was completely phased out in 2008. The collar pin, which bears the college insignia, is worn on the left collar of the shirt. Dark brown blazers and school ties are worn on special occasions. The attire for PE is a college T-shirt with blue and white shoulder stripes and black shorts which bear the school initials.

Millennia Institute


Millennia Institute (simplified Chinese: 励仁高级中学) is a centralised institute in Singapore offering three-year pre-university education. It is currently the only pre-university centre to offer the Commerce stream apart from the traditional arts and science streams offered by pre-university institutions.

The three-years course offered at Millennia Institute leads to the Singapore-Cambridge GCE Advanced Level examination. As opposed to two year courses offered at junior colleges, students at the Millennia Institute have an additional year to prepare for the national examinations, with Project Work and H1 level Mother Tongue Languages examined in the second year. Millennia Institute is the only public pre-university centre in Singapore to offer Commerce for the Singapore-Cambridge GCE Advanced Level examination, with Management of Business and Principles of Accounts offered the two Commerce stream academic subjects.

Tampines Junior College


Tampines Junior College (Abbreviation: TPJC) is a junior college located in Tampines, Singapore, offering a two-year course for pre-university students leading up to the Singapore-Cambridge GCE Advanced Level examination.

Tampines Junior College was founded in 1986, and was the thirteenth junior college to be established in Singapore.

On 20 April 2017, it was announced that TPJC would merge with Meridian Junior College (MJC), with the merged school located at the current site of MJC . This was in view of the declining cohort sizes since 2014, which was attributed to the fall in Singapore's birth rate. As a result of the merger, TPJC would stop taking in students from 2018 to minimise the need for students to physically relocated to the new site. The merged school operates under the name of Tampines Meridian Junior College, which is the combination of the two schools' names, from 2019.

The uniform design was the product of the efforts of students and staff. Female students wear a blouse and A-line skirt of the same colour. Many female students choose to wear shorts underneath their skirts too, though this is optional. There are no rules governing coloured undergarments as the blouse is not white in colour.

Meridian Junior College


Meridian Junior College (MJC) was a junior college in Singapore, offering two-year pre-university courses leading up to the Singapore-Cambridge GCE Advanced Level examination. Situated in the eastern residential estate of Pasir Ris, it is the sixteenth junior college established in Singapore.

Meridian Junior College was established in 2003 after Teo Chee Hean, the then Education Minister, suggested building a new junior college in Pasir Ris. Its first principal was Ms Esther Lai Choon Lian.

Under Lai's leadership of, the college became a single-pointer JC (based on L1R5 admission) in less than a decade.

On 20 April 2017, it was announced that Meridian Junior College would merge with Tampines Junior College, and continues to operate at its current site under the new name of Tampines Meridian Junior College, which is the combination of the two schools' names, from 2019. The merger was in view of the declining cohort sizes since 2014, which was attributed to the fall in Singapore's birth rate.

Tampines Meridian Junior College (TMJC) is a junior college in Singapore, offering two-year pre-university courses leading up to the Singapore-Cambridge GCE Advanced Level examination. The school is established as the result of a merger between two existing junior colleges, Tampines Junior College and Meridian Junior College.

TMJC is set to build upon the foundations of Tampines Junior College and Meridian Junior College which carry a rich heritage and culture. A wider range of educational experiences and enrichment programmes for students to realise their potential is made possible. The school continues the good practices of both colleges to develop students to be persons with strong self-awareness, a sound moral compass, and the relevant skills and knowledge to be future-ready, and contribute actively and meaningfully to the community and nation.
